Kumho Construction Launches 'Safety and Health Technical Advisory Group' to Prevent Major Accidents
[Asia Economy Reporter Ryu Tae-min] Kumho Construction announced on the 1st that it has launched the "Kumho Construction Safety and Health Technology Advisory Group" to prevent major accidents and strengthen safety management at construction sites.
On the 31st of last month, Kumho Construction held an appointment ceremony for more than 50 advisory committee members of the "Kumho Construction Safety and Health Technology Advisory Group" at its headquarters located in Jongno-gu, Seoul. The appointed members will serve a three-year term until August 31, 2025.
The appointed advisory members consist of experts from various fields. They include Professor Kim Dong-chun of Kyung Hee University, Professor Lee Yeon-su of Hoseo University, Director Ho Jong-gwan of the Korea Construction Equipment Research Institute, Lee Jae-il, Head of the Education Headquarters at the Korea Industrial Safety Association, Jang Jeong-gyu, CEO of Korea Comprehensive Safety, Seo Young-taek, CEO of the labor law firm WE, and Lim Jun-taek, Director of the Korea Occupational Environment Research Institute, representing academia and industry with over 50 members.
The "Kumho Construction Safety and Health Technology Advisory Group" is organized into eight specialized fields to manage safety in architectural, civil engineering, and plant sites constructed by Kumho Construction. The specialized fields include ▲ Construction Machinery ▲ System Safety ▲ Safety Diagnosis/Inspection ▲ Temporary Structures ▲ Safety and Health Policy ▲ Construction Health/Psychology ▲ Education ▲ Legal Support. The group will provide Kumho Construction with safety-related advice across various fields and deliver know-how for preventing major accidents in the future.
The Kumho Construction Safety and Health Office matches advisory members from relevant fields to requests for safety management at sites and provides professional support such as training, diagnosis, consulting, and advice. With the expert support of advisory members, it is expected to be possible to identify risk factors at sites and propose concrete solutions to prevent major accidents in advance.
