Chosun University Hospital Receives Top Grade in HIRA's 'Surgical Prophylactic Antibiotic Use' Evaluation
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Chosun University Hospital (Hospital Director Kim Kyungjong) announced on the 1st that it received a Grade 1 rating in the 2nd cycle 1st phase 'Appropriateness Evaluation of Preventive Antibiotic Use in Surgery' conducted by the Health Insurance Review and Assessment Service.
Along with this, it was also selected as an institution eligible for additional payment.
The Health Insurance Review and Assessment Service evaluated a total of 994 institutions at the general hospital level or higher over three months from October to December 2020, targeting surgeries for which preventive antibiotics are recommended, assessing indicators such as ▲timing of initial antibiotic administration ▲antibiotic selection ▲duration of administration for inpatient care.
In this evaluation, Chosun University Hospital scored a perfect 100 points in colon surgery, knee joint replacement surgery, hysterectomy, cesarean section, craniotomy, prostatectomy, shoulder surgery, lung resection surgery, fracture surgery, vascular surgery, and pacemaker implantation surgery.
