'AI Disinfection Robot' Deployed at Incheon Cheongna Robot Tower
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Hyesook] Incheon Technopark (Incheon TP) announced on the 1st that it will deploy AI (artificial intelligence)-based disinfection robots at the Robot Tower in Cheongna International City for full-scale operation.
After a two-week pilot operation, the two AI disinfection robots operate using an eco-friendly plasma method that is harmless to humans and sterilizes viruses by more than 99.9%, instead of spraying disinfectant.
Additionally, the robots simultaneously disinfect viruses that have fallen on the floor from droplets through UVC LED ultraviolet wavelength installed at the bottom of the robots. They also perform air purification functions against fine dust, ultrafine dust, and harmful household gases.
These autonomous service robots provide real-time air quality information through the upper screen and autonomously move around the lobby, experience center, and cafe of the Robot Tower, which is frequented by many people, to carry out disinfection.
An Incheon TP official stated, "We expect that the introduction of disinfection robots will help ensure the health and environmental safety of resident companies and visitors," adding, "We will support the growth of the robotics industry through the demonstration and introduction of various service robots."
