Seoul City Extends Operation of 'SOS! Climate Change Family Exploration Team' Until December
Family Experience Program to Promote Eco-Friendly Living Culture at Home
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] The Seoul Metropolitan Government announced on the 31st that it will extend the operation of the 'SOS! Climate Change Family Exploration Team,' a program where families learn about climate change together and experience eco-friendly lifestyles such as low-carbon eating habits, until December.
The 'SOS! Climate Change Family Exploration Team' consists of tour and experiential programs that the whole family can practice together, including △Energy Time Travel △Low-Carbon Eating Experience △Plogging Experience △Educational Tool Experience.
The 'SOS! Climate Change Family Exploration Team' is conducted by environmental education specialists, and applications are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis through the Seoul Environmental Education Portal. Participation applications are accepted from 10 a.m. daily on the Seoul Environmental Education Portal, with about 10 participants per session accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.
Seoul also operates online programs such as the 'Climate Change Exploration Team,' where participants learn about climate change and experience solar educational tools at the Climate Energy Information Center, as well as the 'Zero Waste Exhibition.'

Yoo Yeon-sik, Head of the Climate and Environment Headquarters of Seoul, said, “This summer, when we felt the climate crisis through record-breaking heatwaves and heavy rains, 72 families who participated in the program experienced climate change and eco-friendly living for carbon neutrality and promised to practice it in their daily lives. I hope more families participate and that it becomes an opportunity for family members to practice eco-friendly living together.”
