Korea Exchange Holds Seminar on Technology Evaluation and Listing Support for Innovative Companies
The Korea Exchange held a seminar on the 31st at 4 p.m. in the conference hall of its Seoul headquarters to support the technology evaluation and listing of innovative companies. Prior to the seminar, Hong Soon-wook, Head of the KOSDAQ Market Division at the Korea Exchange, delivered the opening remarks.

[Asia Economy Reporter Myunghwan Lee] Suggestions have been made that improvements to the technology evaluation model are necessary for the development of the technology-special listing system in the KOSDAQ market.
The Korea Exchange (KRX) announced on the 31st that it held a seminar titled "Technology Evaluation and Listing Support for Innovative Companies" at its Seoul headquarters conference hall, where discussions were held on the development of new evaluation models and improvements to the evaluation process.
At the seminar, details regarding the development of a new evaluation model and process improvements by the exchange for technology evaluation related to technology-special listings in the KOSDAQ market were disclosed to the market for the first time. Opinions from experts across academia, the venture industry, professional evaluation agencies, and investment banks (IB) on support measures for innovative companies listing on the KOSDAQ market were also gathered.
Hong Soon-wook, Vice President of the Korea Exchange, stated at the seminar, "In line with the recent diversification trend of technology-special sectors and the market's expectations for post-listing performance, greater responsibility and effort are required. Through presenting a new model for technology evaluation, which is a major pillar of technology-special listings, we will enhance the credibility of the technology-special system and accelerate support for the growth of innovative companies via the KOSDAQ market."
Lee Seok-hoon, Senior Research Fellow at the Korea Capital Market Institute, who gave a presentation titled "Performance of Specially Listed Companies and the Importance of Technology Evaluation," emphasized, "The performance of specially listed companies is determined by their technological capabilities. The role of technology evaluation, which is a fundamental qualification for special listings, is important."
Jang Hye-yoon, Executive Director at Samil Accounting Corporation, presented on "Development of a Technology Evaluation Model for KOSDAQ Technology-Special Listings." Jang said, "With the development of this technology evaluation model, we expect to provide consistent evaluation guidelines to professional evaluation agencies and clarify evaluation methods for various industries and convergence sectors. Positive responses from major evaluation agencies were also confirmed during the pilot test of the new model."
