Andaz Seoul Gangnam Appoints Robert Heimer as General Manager
[Asia Economy Reporter Jeon Jin-young] Andaz Seoul Gangnam announced on the 31st that Robert Heimer has been appointed as the General Manager.
General Manager Robert Heimer is an Australian native who majored in hotel management in Austria and is a veteran hotelier with about 34 years of experience at Hyatt. He first stepped into the hospitality industry in 1981 at Thredbo, a ski resort famous in New South Wales.
He then began his 34-year journey at Hyatt in 1988 as a restaurant assistant manager at Hyatt Regency Sanctuary Cove. From 1992 to 2004, he served as food and beverage assistant manager, manager, and director at Grand Hyatt Melbourne, Grand Hyatt Singapore, Grand Hyatt Fukuoka, Hyatt International Asia Pacific, Grand Hyatt Hong Kong, and Grand Hyatt Tokyo, and worked as the deputy head of food and beverage for the Asia region.
Starting as the resident manager of Grand Hyatt Erawan Bangkok, he has served as general manager for the past 14 years at Hyatt International Asia region, Hyatt Regency Tokyo, Hyatt Regency Hong Kong, Sha Tin, Andaz Xintiandi Shanghai, Hyatt Hotel Management Beijing, and Hyatt Regency Kyoto.
He contributed to the successful openings of Park Hyatt Shenzhen and Hyatt Regency Hakone, as well as solidifying his position within Hyatt through roles in business planning and management in various Asian countries.
He has also demonstrated a management philosophy that harmonizes with local communities, applying best practices for each hotel, embracing diverse environments, and earning recognition from hotel owners, business partners, and employees for his authentic service and precise insight in business.
