Park Ji-hyun: "Lee Jae-myung's presidential approval rating 20%, party convention approval rating 78%... Public sentiment and party sentiment differ by four times"

She stated, "Lee's presidential approval rating is 20%, while his party convention approval rating is about 78%," adding, "There is a gap of as much as four times between public opinion and party sentiment. If this gap is not narrowed, it will be impossible to take power."
On the 30th, Park wrote on her Facebook, "I am afraid of the 77.77% that Lee Jae-myung received," and added, "I hope this number is not read as 'overwhelming support.' Rather, the 37% turnout of party members should be read as 'overwhelming neglect.' Only then can Lee Jae-myung's party reform succeed."
She pointed out, "Since the local elections, Lee Jae-myung has been the party leader, and this party convention was merely a confirmation of a de facto marriage into a legal one, so there was no excitement," and "Above all, it is regrettable that forces critical of the Lee Jae-myung regime were either silenced or excluded."
She continued, "The 'Lee Jae-myung endorsement convention,' which lacked fierce generational battles or competition over policies and visions, failed to attract public interest. The party member turnout was very low at 37%, and the online voting rate in Honam was only 19%," adding, "It showed nothing about what values it pursues or how it differs from the 586 generation beyond age."

Now begins the start of a cold evaluation," and added, "It is necessary to honestly admit and reflect in front of party members and the public that the responsibility for the local election defeat lies primarily with Lee himself for insisting on running in Gyeyang."
Park said, "Lee promised to create a Democratic Party that innovates 'among the people.' To keep this promise, he must break away from the so-called 'Gaeddal' fandom," and added, "Now that the party convention is over, it is time to escape from the narrow well of fandom."
She also said, "A thorough separation of investigation and livelihood is necessary," adding, "If legislation is linked to political retaliation, livelihood will disappear. We must declare the principle of separating investigation and livelihood and focus solely on livelihood no matter how much they oppress us."

Furthermore, she mentioned, "An environment where young politicians can stand on their own is also necessary. Instead of waiting for their turn, young politicians should be supported to build their own forces," and added, "Issues that young people are interested in, such as the climate crisis, anti-discrimination law, pension reform, single-person households, and human rights blind spots, should have units within the party where young people can directly propose solutions."
