POSCO Launches 'Win-Win Growth Support Team' for Customized SME Consulting in Second Half of the Year
Support for Solving SME Issues Including ESG Challenges
Financial Performance of 3.75 Billion KRW Achieved in the First Half of the Year

View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Choi Seoyoon] POSCO's representative consulting support organization tailored for small and medium-sized enterprises, the ‘Dongbanseongjang Support Team,’ is launching its full-scale second half activities.
On the 29th, POSCO held the launch ceremony for the second half of the year Dongbanseongjang Support Team at the POSCO headquarters in Pohang, Gyeongbuk.
Attendees at the event included Mincon CEO Nodongil, Jeongjin ENT CEO Juyongtae, Koelt CEO Goseongwon, and POSCO Equipment and Materials Purchasing Office Head Kim Taeok.
The POSCO Dongbanseongjang Support Team provides customized consulting in four areas for SMEs facing difficulties in technology development and management: ▲Smart Factory construction ▲ESG issue resolution ▲Equipment and energy efficiency ▲Technology and innovation.
The support team is composed of veteran POSCO employees with an average of over 25 years of experience and expertise in each field. They visit SMEs directly to assist in solving various problems in areas such as equipment management and technology development.
In the first half of this year, a total of 82 tasks were identified for 20 SMEs, and customized improvement activities are currently underway to resolve the identified tasks.
The financial outcomes generated through first half activities amount to a total of 3.75 billion KRW, including sales expansion through market support, investment cost reduction through government support project matching, and cost savings by resolving equipment and process failures. Various non-financial achievements such as improvement of work environment and safety hazards, and productivity enhancement were also realized.
Furthermore, companies that participated in consulting last year and are currently working on follow-up improvement tasks are showing continuous innovation results, demonstrating the long-term effects of consulting.
A total of 10 SMEs will participate in the Dongbanseongjang Support Team activities in the second half of this year. Until the end of this year, detailed diagnostics will be conducted for each company, improvement plans will be established and specified, and final improvement plans will be implemented next year to generate results.
Kim Taeok, Head of Equipment and Materials Purchasing Office, said, “The POSCO Dongbanseongjang Support Team has been continuously producing results in the first half of this year following last year. We ask that thorough consulting be conducted to help participating companies resolve their immediate difficulties, strengthen competitiveness, and contribute to the strengthening of POSCO’s supply chain.”
