KMI Korea Medical Institute Selects 15 Research Support Projects... Total Funding of 300 Million KRW
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Gwan-joo] KMI Korea Medical Institute selects and supports various research projects to promote public health, advance medical science, and prevent diseases.
KMI announced on the 29th that it held the '2022 KMI Research Support Project' agreement ceremony. This year, 15 research projects were finally selected through a review by a committee of seven internal and external members for the KMI Research Support Project.
KMI provides 20 million KRW each, totaling 300 million KRW in research funding for the 15 selected projects, and the research teams will conduct their studies for one year according to the research plans submitted during the application process.
Lee Sang-ho, Chairman of KMI Korea Medical Institute, said, “We hope that the research support project will not only be about research itself but will also practically contribute to improving human health and happiness,” adding, “KMI will also spare no effort in necessary cooperation and support, such as building related platforms so that high-quality data can be utilized in research.”
Kim Soon-yi, Chairperson of KMI Social Contribution Committee (Honorary Director), stated, “KMI is expanding the scale of research support every year to advance the fields of medicine and healthcare,” and added, “We will continue to do our best in various social contribution activities, including research support projects, for the development of our society and the public good.”

KMI Korea Medical Institute, established in 1985 as a health screening institution, currently operates health screening centers in seven locations nationwide: three in Seoul (Gwanghwamun, Yeouido, Gangnam) and four regional centers (Suwon, Daegu, Busan, Gwangju). Along with activities for early disease detection, prevention, and public health promotion, it carries out various social contribution projects.
