Hyundai Transys Expands Supply Chain ESG Evaluation Partners to 91 Companies This Year
[Asia Economy Reporter Choi Dae-yeol] Hyundai Transys announced on the 29th that it has published the 2022 Sustainability Management Report, which contains its Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) management activities and achievements.
The company decided to strengthen its ESG governance system by newly establishing a company-wide ESG management council. This council, composed of executives, serves as a decision-making body that reviews strategies related to environmental and social responsibility activities. In addition to providing ESG education to employees, it supports ESG management in the supply chain. The number of supply chain partners subject to ESG evaluation will be increased from 15 last year to 91 this year.
The report specifically includes phased transition goals and renewable energy procurement options to achieve RE100 by 2040. This year, solar power facilities will be gradually installed at the Iljo Corporation to self-procure renewable energy of approximately 11
The report also outlines strategies for developing eco-friendly products. In the powertrain sector, products such as the electric vehicle reduction module e-Powertrain and the new concept hybrid system i-Square AT were highlighted. In the seat division, research is being conducted on materials and processing methods to minimize environmental impact.
Yeosu-dong, CEO of Hyundai Transys, stated, "As we enter the mobility era where automobiles provide value beyond transportation, we are promoting a transition to a solutions company," adding, "We will expand our scope into future businesses such as Urban Air Mobility (UAM), Purpose Built Vehicles (PBV), and robotics."
