'Illegal Filming OUT' Seoul City Strengthens Illegal Filming Inspections at Hangang Park
Si Hang River Project Headquarters Conducts Frequent Inspections for Illegal Filming in Restrooms and Other Multi-Use Facilities within Hangang Park
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] The Seoul Metropolitan Government's Hangang Project Headquarters announced on the 29th that it will strengthen inspections against illegal filming in Hangang Park to eradicate such activities and ensure that citizens can use the park with peace of mind.
For public restrooms, the equipment and frequency of inspections have been enhanced to conduct year-round spot checks. During August, intensive inspections against illegal filming were carried out targeting multi-use facilities frequently visited by summer users, such as swimming pools, water play areas, and Nanji Camping Site. The inspections are conducted exclusively by a mobile patrol team.
First, 126 public restroom buildings within Hangang Park and restrooms within Yuseonjang are inspected at least once a month on a spot-check basis. Since 2019, quarterly inspections against illegal filming have been conducted in restrooms, but the frequency has been increased and equipment reinforced to strengthen these inspections.
To enhance illegal filming inspections, the Hangang Project Headquarters has provided training from experts to recognize various cases of illegal filming and to familiarize staff with the use of detection equipment. Inspections are conducted using devices such as radio wave detectors and lens detectors.
