President Yoon's Deposit Amounts to 525,953,000 KRW... The Rest Are Under First Lady Kim Geon-hee's Name
[Asia Economy Reporter Ki-min Lee] On the 26th, President Yoon Seok-yeol reported assets totaling 7,639,999,000 KRW under his name and that of his wife, First Lady Kim Geon-hee, in his first asset declaration since taking office.
This amount is about 100 million KRW less than the 7,745,343,000 KRW declared to the National Election Commission in February when he was the People Power Party's presidential candidate.
The Government Ethics Committee for Public Officials published President Yoon's asset declaration in the official gazette on the same day.
A large portion of the assets consisted of deposits. Deposits under President Yoon's name amounted to 525,953,000 KRW, and deposits under First Lady Kim's name totaled 4,999,934,000 KRW.
Among President Yoon's deposits, 6,266,000 KRW were in insurance, and the rest were bank savings deposits. All of First Lady Kim's deposits are held in two commercial banks, Shinhan Bank and Woori Bank.
The President's residence, Acrovista in Seocho-dong, Seocho-gu, Seoul, is valued at 1.8 billion KRW, including a 6㎡ (approximately 8 pyeong) land share and a 164㎡ building. The house price increased by about 240 million KRW from 1.559 billion KRW in February, and the property is registered under First Lady Kim's name.
First Lady Kim also solely owns land worth 314,112,000 KRW in Byeongsan-ri, Gangsang-myeon, Yangpyeong-gun, Gyeonggi-do, including forest land, residential land, warehouse site, and road.
