$2 Million Exclusive U.S. Export Distribution Agreement Signed
10 Million KRW Donated for Uljin Forest Restoration Fund
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Gwi-yeol] On the 25th at 5 p.m., Gyeongbuk Province announced at the provincial office that Ultari USA, which operates as an overseas advisory committee member in the United States, donated 10 million KRW to restore the forest ecosystem in Uljin and signed an exclusive export distribution contract with Sangbokmyeonggawon for the entry of Gyeongju bread into the U.S. market.
Ultari USA, headquartered in California, USA, delivered 10 million KRW to Gyeongbuk Province to participate in the “1 Billion Steps, 10,000 Trees Donation Campaign” operated by the Gyeongbuk branch of the Korean Red Cross, aimed at restoring the Geumgang pine tree clusters damaged by the Uljin forest fire.
The representative of Ultari USA delivered health foods and other consolation items worth about 30 million KRW in 2020 to encourage frontline workers related to COVID-19, and also donated 10 million KRW for the Happiness Sharing Fund last year.
Since its establishment in 2018, Ultari USA currently operates three direct stores centered in LA and numerous stores including agencies in nine regions such as Houston and New York.
In addition, it imports premium agricultural and marine products from 14 local cities and counties including Gyeongju, as well as 250 companies and 54 local governments nationwide, totaling over 2,000 products, into the U.S. market.
Furthermore, since early 2020, Ultari USA has been introducing Gyeongju bread from Sangbokmyeonggawon located in Gyeongju to the U.S. market.
Receiving positive responses from local customers, they supplemented English manuals and signed an exclusive U.S. distribution contract to export $500,000 annually and $2 million over four years, aiming for full-scale entry into the U.S. market starting this year.
Sangbokmyeonggawon, which had mainly focused on the domestic market, has embarked on its first export path through this contract.
Shin Sang-gon, CEO of Ultari USA, said, “I am pleased to have the opportunity to participate in the tree-planting campaign donation event for the restoration of the Uljin forest fire damage area.”
