According to the Daily Mail on the 23rd (local time), Soner Bumez, a veterinarian working at a farm in a remote area of Turkey where a landslide occurred earlier this month, heard cries that seemed to be a call for help.
Rushing to the site of the landslide, the veterinarian found a dog whose entire body except for its head was buried in the ground and unable to move. Using a small shovel and his bare hands, he carefully dug the ground to rescue the dog.
However, the rescued dog kept crying despite being unharmed. Bumez and his colleague suspected there might be other animals buried in the landslide. The two knelt down and began digging the ground again, removing stones.
Soon, they discovered a small puppy covered in dirt. When they dug it out, the puppy, thought to be dead, wriggled and whimpered, showing no serious injuries. They continued digging with their bare hands for another two hours and rescued a total of eight puppies, one of which was already deceased.
The seven rescued puppies safely escaped the pit and were reunited with their mother.

After completing the rescue operation, Bumez said, "It seems the burrow the mother dog had dug for her puppies collapsed due to the landslide, trapping them," adding, "The health condition of the rescued mother dog and seven puppies is good." He also stated, "I will adopt and raise them all."
