Jangseong-gun Accelerates Organizational Restructuring... Focus on Work Efficiency and Regional Economic Revitalization

[Jangseong=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Jo Hangyu] Jangseong County is accelerating its organizational restructuring in the 8th local government administration. The focus is on improving work efficiency, revitalizing the local economy, fostering future growth industries, and strengthening agricultural expertise.

According to the county on the 24th, the most noticeable change is the establishment of a new Job Economy Office directly under the Deputy County Governor.

It will include the Regional Economy Team, Population Response Policy Team, Job Creation Team, Industrial Complex Enterprise Team, and Food Hygiene Team to intensively promote the core county administration goals of the 8th local government administration, such as fostering future industries, creating jobs, and revitalizing neighborhood commercial districts through the food industry.

The Agricultural Technology Center, a directly affiliated institution, will also undergo a revolutionary reorganization.

The county plans to transfer the Agriculture and Livestock Division and Agricultural Distribution Division to the Construction Industry Bureau at the main office to separate agricultural administration and distribution tasks from research and guidance tasks. The Agricultural Technology Center will be reorganized into two divisions: Rural Support Division and Agricultural Technology Division, focusing on technology dissemination and research areas such as scientific farming.

Additionally, expertise in the tourism sector will be further strengthened.

The Culture and Tourism Division will be reorganized into the Culture and Arts Team, Tourism Marketing Team, Tourism Development Team, and Tourism Facilities Team to systematically prepare for fostering a competitive tourism industry.

The existing Sports Policy Team will be transferred to the Sports Office, which is renamed from the Cultural Facilities Office, to promote the sports industry.

Increasing welfare demands will be addressed by establishing a new Family Happiness Division.

The existing Resident Welfare Division will focus on discovering welfare policies and related initiatives, while the Family Happiness Division will provide life-cycle-based living welfare services.

The Safety and Construction Division will be split into the Disaster Safety Division and Construction Division to enhance safety and increase expertise.

The Disaster Safety Division will respond swiftly to major accidents directly related to citizen safety, and the Construction Division will take over the existing Rural Development Team’s tasks to manage overall county development projects.

A Jangseong County official said, “This organizational restructuring focuses on strengthening the execution of core projects of the 8th local government administration and improving organizational inefficiencies,” adding, “It is expected to be implemented in September after review and approval by the Jangseong County Council.”

Meanwhile, according to the current Jangseong County organizational restructuring plan, the existing structure of 2 bureaus, 2 offices, 11 divisions, 1 council, 2 direct units (6 divisions), 3 business offices, and 11 towns and townships will be reorganized into 2 bureaus, 2 offices, 14 divisions, 1 council, 2 direct units (4 divisions), 3 business offices, and 11 towns and townships, increasing the number of divisions by one. The Administrative Welfare Bureau will be renamed the Autonomous Administration Bureau, and the Economic Construction Bureau will be renamed the Construction Industry Bureau.
