On the morning of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Korea and China, Minister Kwon met with Ambassador Xing in the Minister of Unification's office, congratulated the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, and exchanged opinions on inter-Korean relations and the situation on the Korean Peninsula, the Ministry of Unification said.
In particular, the Ministry of Unification said that Minister Kwon emphasized that the Yoon Seok-yeol administration will closely communicate and cooperate with the Chinese government on its North Korea policy for denuclearization and improvement and development of inter-Korean relations.
In response, Ambassador Xing said that China is making great efforts to denuclearize the Korean Peninsula and maintain peace and stability.
Ambassador Xing added, "Today is a very meaningful day marking the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries," and the Ministry of Unification said that he evaluated the efforts made by Minister Kwon, who served as the first Chinese ambassador during the Park Geun-hye administration, for inter-Korean and Korea-China relations.
Minister Kwon requested that the Chinese government play a constructive role so that North Korea can respond positively to the "Bold Initiative," the Korean government's roadmap for denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula and North Korea policy.
