Announcing the Joy of Reading! ... 7 Libraries in Gijang-gun Host Various Cultural Events for Reading Month in September
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Du-yeol] Busan Gijang-gun will operate a rich reading culture event to inform local residents of the joy of reading in celebration of Reading Month this coming September.
The Reading Month event will be held throughout September at seven public libraries within Gijang-gun, offering various cultural experience opportunities that connect books and residents through exhibitions, performances, meetings, and participation programs to spark interest in reading.
Jeonggwan Library will present various lectures, experiences, performances, and exhibition programs such as ▲Our Neighborhood Authors Book Talk ▲Making Props from Fairy Tales ‘Crafts with Stories’ ▲‘Gijang-gun Book of the Year’ performance through sand art ▲‘Looking for the First Reader’ book curation.
At Gijang Library, programs like ▲Creative Puppet Show ‘Baby Whale Coco’s Sea Journey’ ▲Parenting Education Special Lecture on Communication Skills ▲One-day DIY Experience Class will provide local residents with opportunities to get closer to books.
Opened last April and contributing to the spread of reading culture, Gyori Library has prepared ▲Fantastic Magic Balloon Show ▲Family Experience Special Lectures for family visitors.
Jeonggwan Children’s Library, Gochon Eoullim Library, Daera Multipurpose Library, and Naeri Saera Library will also hold unique events such as ▲Double Day for Reading Month ▲Free distribution of last year’s magazines ▲Reading Picnic Set Rental.
All programs will be safely conducted in compliance with COVID-19 quarantine guidelines.
