Kim Hye-kyung Appears at Police as Suspect in 'Corporate Card Allegations'... Silent Response
Lee Jae-myung Personally Announces Spouse's Attendance on SNS
[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Sehee] Kim Hye-kyung, spouse of Lee Jae-myung, a member of the Democratic Party of Korea who is suspected of privately misusing the Gyeonggi Provincial Government corporate card, appeared at the police station on the 23rd for questioning. It has been two weeks since the police sent Kim a summons on the 9th.
Kim arrived at the Gyeonggi Southern Provincial Police Agency in Suwon, Gyeonggi Province, at around 1:44 PM that day. She did not respond to reporters' questions such as "Did you instruct Bae Mo (former special-appointed official at Gyeonggi Provincial Government) to misuse the corporate card privately?", "Do you deny the charges?", "Is there any part you take responsibility for?", and "Did Lee have no knowledge at all?"
Lee’s side announced on Facebook at around 1 PM that day, "Kim Hye-kyung will appear at the Gyeonggi Southern Provincial Police Agency at around 2 PM for an investigation related to the so-called ‘78,000 won incident’ and other corporate card issues."
