Volkswagen Launches 7-Seater Tiguan... 50.98 Million KRW

[Asia Economy Reporter Choi Dae-yeol] Volkswagen Korea launched the new Tiguan Allspace, a mid-size sport utility vehicle (SUV), on the 23rd.
The new model is equipped with a 2.0 TSI gasoline engine. It is positioned as a 7-seater family SUV. The company stated that it enhanced product competitiveness by applying convenience and safety features preferred by domestic customers for the first time, such as LED matrix headlamps and ventilated front seats.

The 2.0 TSI gasoline direct injection turbocharged engine produces a maximum output of 186 horsepower and a maximum torque of 30.6 kg·m. It is paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission. The combined fuel efficiency is 10.1 km per liter (9.0 km in the city, 11.9 km on the highway), and it is classified as a low-emission vehicle under the three major eco-friendly categories, making it eligible for benefits such as discounts in public parking lots.
The front gives a strong impression with radiator grille lighting that crosses the lights and headlamps. The front bumper and fender design have been newly changed. The hidden muffler tips and chrome trim at the lower rear body emphasize a dynamic feel. The overall length has increased by 30 mm to 4,730 mm, and the height has decreased by 15 mm to 1,660 mm. The wheelbase is 2,790 mm.
The third row can be used as a 7-seater by adding two seats or for carrying cargo. The trunk capacity is up to 1,775 liters when both the second and third rows are folded. Folding only the third row provides 700 liters, and not folding it provides 230 liters. The trunk includes a 230V power outlet. The digital instrument cluster is 10.25 inches, displaying driving information, and the infotainment system is 9.2 inches. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support wireless connection. The steering wheel includes a heating function, and the climate control uses a touch interface.
Intelligent interactive lighting IQ.Light and LED matrix headlamps are included. Within the LED matrix module, 22 LEDs turn on or off individually according to driving conditions. This system operates comprehensively based on the front camera, map data, GPS signals, and steering angle. It also features functions that assist lighting activation according to driving situations and brighten the lights in the direction of travel around corners.
The driver assistance system IQ.Drive Travel Assist helps maintain speed and lane position from start-up up to speeds of 210 km/h, considering the distance to the vehicle ahead. Occupant protection systems, pedestrian monitoring systems, front collision warning Front Assist, and emergency braking systems are also applied. A 3-zone automatic air conditioner, trunk easy open and close are standard, and parking support systems, area view, and head-up display are also included.
The price is 50,986,000 KRW (including 3.5% reduced individual consumption tax and VAT), and with August promotional benefits, it can be purchased for 50,207,500 KRW. Additionally, a 5-year/150,000 km free warranty extension program and a total care service that supports up to five times free deductible coverage for insurance repairs of accident vehicles at official centers are provided.
Meanwhile, the company stated that following the new Golf and Arteon in the first half of the year, it aimed to show the brand’s direction with the new Tiguan Allspace in the second half. Furthermore, it plans to launch the first pure electric SUV ID.4 and the new compact sedan Jetta within the year.
