[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] The Seoul Metropolitan Government announced on the 23rd that it will operate the ‘Single-Person Household Cooking Practice Education’ to promote healthy eating habits among the socially increasing number of single-person households.
The education content includes: ?Nutrition and healthy cooking education for single-person households ?Basics of cooking and food storage methods ?Practice classes on Galbijjim and Tofu Naengchae (morning session on August 31) ?Practice classes on Dakgalbi and Potato Pizza, among others.
The practical sessions will be held twice on the 31st at the Seoul Agricultural Technology Center, and 30 participants will be recruited on a first-come, first-served basis starting from the 24th. Participation is free of charge. Eligibility for participation is limited to single-person households with a Seoul address, and participants must bring proof of single-person household status on the day of the education.

The Seoul Metropolitan Government plans to continuously design and operate demonstration education conducted non-face-to-face, reflecting the characteristics of single-person households, most of whom are office workers. Cho Sang-tae, Director of the Seoul Agricultural Technology Center, said, “The increase in single-person households is a social phenomenon and may represent the future lifestyle of many Seoul citizens. Through this education, we hope that communication and relationship building through cooking classes will help stabilize the emotions of single-person households, promote balanced nutrition intake, and encourage healthy eating habits.”
