The Gyeongnam Provincial Council is strengthening communication with residents by utilizing social networking services.

The social media channels operated by the Gyeongnam Provincial Council include four platforms: Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, and a blog. Starting with the launch of the Facebook channel in January 2019, YouTube, Instagram, and the blog were subsequently added and are currently in operation.
As of August, the Facebook page has 11,450 followers, YouTube has 2,540 subscribers, Instagram has 4,500 followers, and the blog averages 2,780 monthly visitors. The council actively promotes its legislative activities through customized management of each channel.
On the Facebook and Instagram channels, official legislative activities such as session schedules, plenary session agendas and ordinances, provincial government questions, 5-minute free speeches, and on-site legislative activities are presented in the form of "card news." The YouTube channel posts live broadcasts of plenary sessions, provincial government questions, and major policy forums for promotional purposes.
Additionally, a unified social media brand BI (brand image) called "Uihwaewa Dorandoran" was created and introduced to ensure systematic social media management.
The council is also live streaming major policy forums on YouTube to promote various legislative activities in real time, and is preparing to enable live broadcasts of meetings for each standing committee on YouTube next year.

The Gyeongnam Provincial Council’s Communication and Public Relations Officer stated, "Along with traditional promotional methods such as TV and newspapers, we will actively promote legislative activities using SNS to realize an open council," adding, "This year marks the first year of the 12th Gyeongnam Provincial Council, and we will transform into a council that communicates more closely and intimately with residents."
