GM Hanmaeum Foundation Korea Launches Vehicle Donation Project to Support Families with Disabled Children
Signed Agreement with Community Chest and Donated 10 Vehicles to Social Welfare Facilities
[Asia Economy Reporter Kiho Sung] GM Hanmaeum Foundation Korea (Hanmaeum Foundation) has signed a business agreement with the Incheon Community Chest of Korea (Community Chest) to donate 10 vehicles to local social welfare facilities supporting families with disabled children.
On the 22nd, at the Korea GM headquarters, Roberto Rempel, President and CEO of Korea GM, Brian McMurray, President of GM Technical Center Korea (GMTCK), Yoon Myung-ok, Secretary General of Hanmaeum Foundation, Kim Jun-oh, Head of the Metalworkers' Union Korea GM Branch, Ahn Moon-gyu, Chairman of GMTCK Branch, Jo Sang-beom, Chairman of Incheon Community Chest, and executives and employees of GM Korea business sites attended the business agreement ceremony for this year's vehicle donation project.
According to this vehicle donation business agreement, Hanmaeum Foundation plans to support 10 Chevrolet Spark compact cars to social welfare institutions located in GM Korea business sites such as Incheon, Changwon, and Boryeong, together with the Community Chest. Through this, it aims to support a more stable daily life for families with disabled children in the local community, who have been increasingly struggling due to COVID-19, and to promote the healthy growth of disabled children.
Roberto Rempel, President of Korea GM, said, "Since its establishment, Hanmaeum Foundation has donated a total of 675 Chevrolet vehicles, becoming a reliable step for the local community," and added, "Especially, this vehicle donation project supports families with disabled children who are in urgent need of help, so I hope we can create valuable results with the help of the Community Chest."

Meanwhile, the vehicle donation project was open for applications from last month until the 17th of this month. In September, recipients and beneficiary institutions will be selected, and vehicles will be delivered to the selected institutions in October. The selection criteria include ▲whether welfare recipients directly benefit ▲number of beneficiaries ▲transportation conditions, and 10 institutions and facilities meeting various criteria will be selected.
