On this day, Governor Lee explained to the Deputy Prime Minister the direction Gyeongbuk Province should take in the era of the 4th Industrial Revolution and strongly requested budget support for future growth engine industries and infrastructure such as SOC.
He conveyed that the ‘Yeongilman Transversal Highway’ project is a long-cherished regional aspiration that can no longer be delayed, and that the tourism synergy effect of the marine bridge is very high, so it should be promoted as a national policy project.
In response, Deputy Prime Minister Choo Kyung-ho replied that despite difficult national fiscal conditions, he would instruct to reflect it in next year’s budget.
In addition, support was requested for future food source projects such as the construction of the Silla Royal Capital Time Machine Platform, establishment of the East Sea Blue Carbon Center, creation of a hemp smart farm cultivation complex, development of the Gyeongbuk Start Seafood Processing Complex, and establishment of the National Mountain Ecology Center.
Also, in preparation for the 4th Industrial Revolution era, active proposals were made to reflect the budget for the creation of the Hallyu Metaverse hub in Gyeongbuk, the Metaverse capital, the establishment of the xEV protective body alliance corporate support platform, the construction of a public-private cooperation advanced manufacturing incubating center, and SOC expansion projects such as the Donghae Central Line railway construction (Pohang?Samcheok), the double-track electrification of the Jungang Line (Dodam?Yeongcheon), and the Southern Inland Railway (Gimcheon?Geoje).
