Tata Daewoo Commercial Vehicle's 'Gussen' Also Launches Rocket Delivery
Ultra-Long Wheelbase Plus Model with 8.5-Ton Load Capacity
[Asia Economy Reporter Kiho Sung] Tata Daewoo Commercial Vehicle announced on the 18th that it has supplied 44 units of the medium-duty truck ‘KUXEN’ to Coupang.
The ‘KUXEN’ to be deployed at Coupang’s delivery sites is a medium-duty truck launched by Tata Daewoo Commercial Vehicle this year, featuring an ultra-long wheelbase plus model with a loading capacity of 8.5 tons. Starting with 23 units in June and completing the supply of 21 units in July, the ‘KUXEN’ is scheduled to operate across Coupang’s delivery infrastructure nationwide from this fall.
The ‘KUXEN’ is a medium-duty truck lineup released by Tata Daewoo Commercial Vehicle after 13 years, developed through over 140 quality improvement processes suggested by the market. It is equipped with a European engine that meets the more environmentally friendly ‘Euro 6 Step-E’ standard compared to ‘Euro 6 Step-D’ emission regulations, and emphasizes driving convenience and efficiency with a ‘ZF 8-speed’ automatic transmission. Additionally, it meets the European cab crash regulation ‘UNECE-R29’ by using high-strength materials. It also passed safety standards with POSCO’s ‘Atos’ high-strength steel triple frame.
Coupang decided to introduce the ‘KUXEN’ considering delivery efficiency, safety, and convenience, and because it currently has a stable production management system that facilitates smooth ordering, manufacturing, and delivery. As a result, the ‘KUXEN’ has been actively deployed in logistics sites within half a year of its launch, gaining recognition for its efficiency and performance in the logistics industry.
