Popular Drama 'Woo Young-woo' Adapted into a Musical
EMK Musical Company and Ace Story MOU... Aiming for Premiere in Early 2024
The drama 'Extraordinary Attorney Woo' is being adapted into a musical. EMK Musical Company announced on the 17th that it has signed a business agreement with AIMC, a subsidiary of AStory, to produce the musical. The original characters of 'Woo Young-woo' will be retained, and three episodes from the drama will be staged. The production aims for its premiere in early 2024.

Um Hong-hyun, CEO of EMK Musical Company, said, "'Woo Young-woo' has highly complete episodes," adding, "We plan to express detailed stories in an expanded form through the stage adaptation." Lee Sang-baek, CEO of AStory, stated, "We will make it a K-content loved worldwide, beyond just a domestic original musical." EMK Musical Company has produced numerous original musicals such as 'The Count of Monte Cristo,' 'Excalibur,' 'Mata Hari,' and 'The Man Who Laughs.'
