The Bar Association Investigates Lawyers Involved in Allegations of Golf Entertainment for Constitutional Court Justice Lee Young-jin
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Hyung-min] The Korean Bar Association (KBA) is investigating a lawyer, formerly a judge, who is implicated in the inappropriate golf entertainment allegations involving Constitutional Court Justice Lee Young-jin.
According to the legal community on the 15th, the KBA held an executive board meeting on the 8th and decided to refer Lawyer A to the investigation committee. Whether Lawyer A will be sent to the disciplinary committee will be determined based on the investigation results.
Lawyer A is suspected of receiving golf and meal entertainment from businessman B last October, along with Justice Lee and others. Lawyer A, who graduated from Sungkyunkwan University’s law department with Justice Lee, later served as B’s legal representative in a divorce lawsuit after the gathering.
B claimed that Justice Lee mentioned he "knows the chief judge of the family court and would help with the lawsuit," but Justice Lee completely denied this, stating he did not mention anything about the trial.
