Hong Seong-guk Elected as Chairman of the Democratic Party Sejong City Chapter
[Asia Economy Reporter Hwang Yoon-joo] On the afternoon of the 14th, the Democratic Party of Korea Sejong City Party held a regular delegates' meeting at the Areum-dong Complex Community Center and elected Hong Seong-guk (59), who ran unopposed, as the new Sejong City Party Chairman.
Chairman Hong will lead the Sejong City Party for the next two years.
In his acceptance speech, Representative Hong said, "I feel a heavy responsibility in taking on the important role of city party chairman during a critical time," adding, "I will build a party with strong roots, capable of governing, and trusted by party members and citizens to lead the victory in the 22nd general election in 2024."

Born in Yeongi-gun, Chungnam (now Sejong City), the new city party chairman Hong has served as head of the Daewoo Securities Research Center (Executive Director), CEO of KDB Daewoo Securities, CEO of Mirae Asset Daewoo, and CEO of Hyean Research. He was elected in the Sejong Gap constituency in the 21st general election held in April 2020.
