People Power Party Appoints Lawyer Hwang Jeong-geun as Legal Representative for 'Lee Jun-seok Injunction' Case
[Asia Economy Reporter Hwang Yoon-joo] Lawyer Hwang Jeong-geun (Judicial Research and Training Institute class 15, Law Firm Sobek) has been appointed as the litigation representative for the People Power Party in the injunction application case filed by party leader Lee Jun-seok, who opposed the party's transition to a non-standing emergency committee.
According to the legal community on the 12th, Lawyer Hwang and others submitted a power of attorney for litigation on behalf of the debtor (People Power Party) to the Civil Division 51 of the Seoul Southern District Court (Presiding Judge Hwang Jeong-su) on the same day.
Lawyer Hwang recently served as co-chairman of the Police System Improvement Advisory Committee for the establishment of the Police Bureau under the Ministry of the Interior and Safety. In the 2016 impeachment trial against then-President Park Geun-hye, he led the National Assembly's legal representative team.
On the creditor side, representing Leader Lee, lawyers Lee Byung-cheol (Judicial Research and Training Institute class 29, Law Firm Chanjong), Seo Mi-ok (Judicial Research and Training Institute class 48, Law Firm Geonwoo), and Kang Dae-gyu (6th Bar Exam, Law Firm Daehan Joongang) are involved.
