Sancheong-gun, Regular Inspection of Measuring Instruments to Ensure Fairness in Commerce
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Sancheong-gun, Gyeongnam Province will conduct regular inspections of weighing instruments such as scales from the 16th to the 25th.
The regular inspection of weighing instruments is conducted every two years to verify the accuracy of scales in order to establish fair commercial transaction order and protect consumers.
The inspection targets are manual plate scales under 10 tons, dial plate and dial scales, and electric dial scales. Scales that were certified in 2022 or 2021, or those kept or displayed for sale, are excluded from the inspection.
This inspection will start at the Sancheong-eup Office on the 16th and will be conducted as a traveling inspection throughout the entire area. Additional inspections for scales that were not inspected will be held on the 25th at Sancheong-eup.
For attached scales or scales that are difficult to move or located in one place, inspections can be conducted upon prior application.

A county official said, “If scales that have not undergone regular inspection are used, fines may be imposed according to the Weights and Measures Act, so we hope all target businesses will participate in the regular inspection without fail.”
