According to Jeju Fire Station on the 11th, the visit included an inspection of the installation status of water safety signs and overall safety management, reminders to personnel to be cautious of safety accidents during field activities, and listening to the difficulties faced by the 119 Citizen Lifeguard Service members.
Jeju Island is a representative summer vacation destination attracting many tourists, and water safety accidents occur frequently.
Accordingly, Jeju Fire Station has been operating the Citizen Lifeguard Service from the 1st of last month until the 31st of this month, striving to ensure tourists' safety and provide emergency treatment to patients to prevent safety accidents.
Chief Ko Jae-woo said, “It is expected that many people will visit the beaches under the jurisdiction of Jeju Fire Station as outdoor water play spots to escape the heatwave,” adding, “We will do our best to prevent safety accidents by actively guiding visitors to comply with social distancing guidelines in daily life and water safety rules so they can enjoy a pleasant summer vacation.”
