The event, held the previous day at the Plaza Hotel in Jung-gu, Seoul, was organized to promote the transition to a circular economy society and win-win management among stakeholders. The circular economy is an eco-friendly economic model that pursues sustainability by maximizing the long-term circulation of resources through reuse and recycling.
The conference consisted of three sessions covering the meaning and role of the circular economy, analysis of the external environment for transitioning to a circular economy society, trends in key industries leading the circular economy, and corporate response strategies. Presentations introduced Woori Financial Group’s ‘Global Guidance’ being developed for resource circulation and the circular economy, as well as the ‘UN Plastic Treaty’ being promoted by the international community.
