SK Nexilis and SKC Solmix Selected as Ministry of Employment's 'Top Job Companies'
SK Nexilis Wins for 2 Consecutive Years, SKC Solmix Receives Award 3 Times
Recognized for Creating Quality Jobs and Improving Work Environment

View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Choi Seoyoon] SK Nexilis, an investor in SKC's copper foil business for secondary batteries, and SKC Solmix, an investor in semiconductor materials business, were both selected as ‘Korea’s Best Job Creation Companies.’ They were recognized for their efforts in creating quality jobs and improving working conditions.
On the 9th, SK Nexilis and SKC Solmix received presidential certification plaques at the 2022 Korea’s Best Job Creation Companies Awards Ceremony held by the Ministry of Employment and Labor at the Sejong Convention Center. SK Nexilis was selected for the second consecutive year, and SKC Solmix received the award for the third time following 2019 and 2020.
The Korea’s Best Job Creation Companies system awards presidential certification plaques to companies that have achieved quality employment creation and supports various administrative tasks. Since 2018, the Ministry of Employment and Labor has selected 100 Korea’s Best Job Creation Companies annually based on quantitative and qualitative evaluations using data such as employment insurance.
Both companies have notably increased youth employment, leading efforts to address youth job issues. SK Nexilis hired 128 employees last year, a 24% increase compared to 2020. Among them, the proportion of youth under 34 years old rose from 57% to 72.7%. To stabilize jobs for non-regular workers, 34 employees were converted to regular positions over three years starting in 2019. The establishment of a recommended leave system and flexible working hours expanded work-life balance for employees.
SKC Solmix hired 224 employees last year, a 17% increase from the previous year. Youth recruitment accounted for 85% of this. As of 2021, youth made up nearly half of the total workforce at 46%. Vacation programs to enhance employee happiness were diversified. The company created a happy workplace through paid leave called ‘Refresh Leave’ freely used by all employees and ‘Happiness Camp,’ which offers free hotel stays at nationwide resorts through a lottery.
