Gangwon Province Holds Regional Briefings to Uncover Special Provisions in the 'Gangwon Special Act'
Gangneung Area on the 11th, Chuncheon Area on the 18th, Wonju Area on the 19th
[Asia Economy Reporter Ra Young-cheol] Gangwon Province, which is set to launch as Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province in June next year, will hold regional briefing sessions to discover special provisions for the 'Gangwon Special Act.'
The province plans to use the briefings as an opportunity to establish a cooperative system with each city and county. The sessions will be divided into three regions: Gangneung area on the 11th, Chuncheon area on the 18th, and Wonju area on the 19th. They will share an overview of the special self-governing province initiative, the preparation status of the task force, and future plans.
In particular, the sessions will focus on explaining ways to discover special provisions that reflect the unique characteristics of the region and area, including national agenda items, strategic industries, and pledged projects of the province, cities, and counties, ensuring benefits reach the residents.

Kim Sang-young, the officer in charge of promoting Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province, stated, "We will swiftly pursue amendments to the 'Gangwon Special Act' by removing various regulations before the launch of the special self-governing province and discovering special provisions that help the local economy." He added, "We will firmly establish a cooperative system with related organizations such as cities, counties, and the education office."
