[Asia Economy Reporter Naju-seok] In the first regional primary election to select the next leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, candidate Lee Jae-myung showed an overwhelming lead with over 70% of the votes.
In the first regional primary held on the 6th in Gangwon, Daegu, and Gyeongbuk, candidate Lee recorded 74.81%, securing first place. Candidate Park Yong-jin received 20.31%, and candidate Kang Hoon-sik received 4.88% of the votes, respectively.
In the Supreme Council member election, candidate Jeong Cheong-rae led with 29.86% of the votes. Following him were candidate Ko Min-jung with 22.50% and candidate Park Chan-dae with 10.75%, taking second and third places respectively. Next were candidate Jang Kyung-tae with 10.65%, candidate Seo Young-kyo with 9.09%, candidate Yoon Young-chan with 7.83%, candidate Go Young-in with 4.67%, and candidate Song Gap-seok with 4.64%.
