The Changwon National Industrial Complex Expansion Project is a project to create a new type of industrial complex centered on advanced industries, moving away from manufacturing-centered industries, by investing a total project cost of 181.7 billion KRW in an area of 436,116㎥ covering Wanan-dong, Sangbok-dong, and Namji-dong in Seongsan-gu.
After completing related procedures such as approval of the national industrial complex development plan (revision) and implementation plan in February 2021, the project has accelerated, and site formation work is currently being carried out normally.
When the site formation work is completed in December 2024, 11 industries centered on advanced industries such as electricity and hydrogen are expected to move in.
To actively respond to corporate demand, the Korea Automotive Research Institute and others moving into the Sangbok-dong area have sequentially started construction since May last year and are currently carrying out building construction. In addition, construction is being further accelerated to supply infrastructure such as roads in a timely manner.
In January, an application for expropriation decision was submitted for uncompensated land, and once the compensation payment and deposit procedures are completed in August, it is expected that the main project will gain more momentum.
