During her remarks at the meeting with National Assembly Speaker Kim Jin-pyo held at the National Assembly that day, Speaker Pelosi said, "There are several ways to demonstrate our strong commitment to security. Meanwhile, concerning the issue of comfort women victims of the Japanese military, Speaker Pelosi said, "A resolution related to comfort women was passed in the U.S. Congress, initiated by Representative Honda, who is Japanese American. Although there were many difficulties, I am proud that it was passed," adding, "This resolution condemned the poor treatment of comfort women and allowed us to reflect our opinions to Japanese officials."
