[Asia Economy Reporter Song Seung-yoon] Asia Economy is hosting the ‘2022 Global Wine & Food Trip,’ where you can experience a diverse range of wines and foods from around the world all in one place.

Recently, the domestic wine market has been experiencing an unprecedented boom. As drinking culture shifts towards a more leisurely enjoyment, interest in wine has increased because it allows individuals to express their personal tastes and create various stories even with just one glass.

Additionally, the emergence of ultra-low-priced wines mainly in large supermarkets has lowered the entry barriers, enabling beginners, including the MZ generation (Millennials + Generation Z), to enjoy wine without hesitation.

As wine gradually permeates everyday life, last year’s wine import value also approached 600 million dollars (approximately 786 billion KRW), increasing by about 70% compared to the previous year, indicating a transition from the introductory phase to maturity.

The 2022 Global Wine & Food Trip, held for two days from September 16 at the Floating Island in Sebitseom, Seocho-gu, Seoul, is a festival where visitors can taste wines from various regions and enjoy foods paired with them.
