[Breaking] China Suspends Imports of Taiwanese Tangerines, Fish, and Natural Sand
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Hyunjung] On the 2nd (local time), Bloomberg reported that China will suspend imports of Taiwanese mandarins and fish. This is interpreted as a retaliatory measure following the visit of Nancy Pelosi, Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives, to Taiwan.
China has also temporarily halted exports of natural sand to Taiwan. A spokesperson for the Chinese Ministry of Commerce announced on the 3rd (local time) that exports of natural sand to Taiwan will be temporarily suspended from that day based on relevant legal regulations.
