40s Son Arrested for Assaulting 70s Mother Over Political Views Dispute
[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Byung-don] A man in his 40s who assaulted and threatened his mother over a political orientation dispute was arrested by the police.
The Gangseo Police Station in Seoul announced on the 2nd that they have arrested Mr. A (41) on the spot on charges of special threats against a senior and are currently investigating..
Mr. A is accused of assaulting his 72-year-old mother, the victim, by covering her with a blanket and threatening her with a weapon at his residence in Deungchon-dong, Gangseo-gu, Seoul, around 7:40 p.m. the previous day.
Mr. A was arrested by the police who responded to the report and was ordered to leave the residence. The victim was reportedly placed under protective custody at a temporary shelter.
