Bodyfriend Convergence R&D Center, Ministry of Science and ICT-led 'Excellent Corporate Research Institute'

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheol-hyun] Bodyfriend announced on the 2nd that its Convergence R&D Center has been designated as an 'Excellent Corporate Research Institute for the First Half of 2022' by the Ministry of Science and ICT (hereinafter referred to as the Ministry of Science and ICT) and the Korea Industrial Technology Association.
The Excellent Corporate Research Institute system identifies and designates corporate-affiliated research institutes with outstanding technological innovation will and research and development (R&D) capabilities. After passing a self-diagnosis evaluation assessing basic capabilities, the process includes presentation evaluation, on-site evaluation, and comprehensive evaluation. Designated research institutes receive benefits such as preferential participation in national R&D projects.
Bodyfriend was finally selected after proving excellence in the Convergence R&D Center, which integrates its own research personnel including the Medical R&D Center, Medical Technology Research Institute, and Experience Design Research Institute, in areas such as mid- to long-term strategic goals, core proprietary technologies, research equipment environment, innovation execution capability, and market competitiveness. In fact, Bodyfriend has invested 80.8 billion KRW in R&D expenses over the past five years, aiming to evolve into a digital healthcare robot company.
