Gangnam Jevisco's 'Beamcoat' Obtains US Department of Agriculture Eco-Friendly Certification
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Jong-hwa] Gangnam Jevisco Co., Ltd. announced on the 1st that its bio UV coating for PVC flooring, 'Beamcoat #7500BM Matt Clear (Beamcoat),' has obtained eco-friendly certification from the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA).
To receive USDA eco-friendly certification, the biomass content must be at least 25%, and the certified Beamcoat has a biomass content of 44%, the highest in Korea. Biomass refers to raw materials derived from nature such as sugarcane, corn, and plants, rather than petroleum-based materials.
Gangnam Jevisco's Beamcoat is an indoor interior coating used for PVC floor coverings and can be used not only in homes such as living rooms and kitchens but also for medium-traffic commercial facilities such as hotels and offices.

A representative from Gangnam Jevisco stated, "It is very challenging to maintain the abrasion resistance and stain resistance performance of petroleum-based products in bio UV coatings for PVC flooring, but the newly developed Beamcoat outperforms existing petroleum-based UV coatings," adding, "We will continue to invest in the development of various eco-friendly paints utilizing biomass technology and actively participate in ESG management."
