Gyeonggi-do Calls for Population Policy Proposals... Until the 15th of This Month
[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Gyeonggi Province is accepting proposals for population policy.
Gyeonggi Province announced on the 1st that it will hold a population policy proposal contest under the theme "Today’s Us Changing Tomorrow, You Are the Owners of Population Policy" through Gyeonggi Province’s Voice until the 15th.
This policy proposal contest is open not only to residents of Gyeonggi Province but also to all citizens of the Republic of Korea. The main proposal topics include birth, care, single-person households, aging, and changes in population structure.
The submission deadline is August 15, which is Liberation Day. After a first round of public voting from the 16th to the 23rd, the final results will be announced on the 31st following evaluation by a panel of internal and external judges.
The selected policies will be reviewed by the responsible departments to decide whether to incorporate them into policy.
Ryu In-kwon, Director of the Planning and Coordination Office of the province, said, "We are conducting this policy proposal contest following the population policy forum to share the seriousness of the population crisis and find alternatives. We hope that you, the owners of population policy, will find policies today that change the future."

Meanwhile, on the 14th of last month, Gyeonggi Province held a population policy forum attended by Governor Kim Dong-yeon and about 300 residents, followed by on-site discussions on population policy with local communities such as chambers of commerce, industrial complexes, and mom cafes.
