Individual Selling Expands... KOSPI Gains Narrow in the Afternoon

As of 2:15 PM, the KOSPI stood at 2442.77, up 7.50 points (0.31%) from the previous day. Foreign investors net bought 228.9 billion KRW, institutions net bought 91.7 billion KRW, while individuals net sold 322.2 billion KRW.
Samsung SDI, which announced its earnings today, is down more than 3%, while LG Electronics, which reported earnings exceeding expectations the previous day, is down more than 3% and 4% respectively. Samsung Electronics and LG Chem also turned bearish. NAVER is showing a strong gain of over 4%, influenced by Amazon's surprise earnings announcement in the US. Kakao is up in the 2% range, LG Energy Solution and Kia are recording gains in the 1% range, and Samsung Biologics and Hyundai Motor are holding steady with slight gains.

The KOSDAQ index is also up 3.03 points (0.38%) at 801.35. Individuals are net selling about 33 billion KRW, while foreigners and institutions are net buying 27.7 billion KRW and 6.8 billion KRW respectively.

In the KOSDAQ market, the number of declining stocks increased in the afternoon, mainly among those with large market capitalizations. Seegene is down more than 3%, and Alteogen is down about 2%. L&F, Celltrion Pharm, and Chunbo are slightly down, while EcoPro BM is showing a slight increase.
