Yeonggwang Sarang Gift Certificates to be Sold at 10% Discount Starting Next Month

[Yeonggwang=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Jeonseong] Jeollanam-do Yeonggwang-gun (Governor Kang Jongman) announced on the 29th that, separate from the 10% incentive payment for the Yeonggwang Love Gift Certificate (card type), it will conduct a special 10% discount sale of the Yeonggwang Love Gift Certificate (paper type) for the upcoming Chuseok holiday.

This special discount will be available from the 1st of next month until September 30th.

The Yeonggwang Love Gift Certificate (paper type) can be purchased at 32 financial institutions including local agricultural, livestock, credit unions, and Saemaeul Geumgo branches with just an ID and cash, with a monthly purchase limit of 500,000 KRW per individual, allowing a maximum discount benefit of 50,000 KRW per month during the period.

The county operates the Yeonggwang Love Gift Certificate Illegal Distribution Reporting Center to prevent illegal distribution of the gift certificates, and plans to conduct thorough verification and crackdowns on suspicious merchants through resident reports and real-time monitoring of the integrated gift certificate management system.

In particular, if illegal distribution activities are detected as a result of the crackdown, measures such as fines up to 20 million KRW, cancellation of merchant registration, and recovery of illegally received amounts will be imposed in accordance with the "Act on the Promotion of Use of Local Love Gift Certificates."

Governor Kang Jongman said, "The issuance and operation of the Yeonggwang Love Gift Certificate aims to revitalize the local economy, which has been depressed due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic, so the establishment of a sound gift certificate distribution culture is a prerequisite," and added, "I ask all residents to take the lead together in promoting the use of the Yeonggwang Love Gift Certificate and eradicating illegal distribution."
