[Asia Economy Reporter Jeon Jinyoung] Russian forces have captured the Bukhlehirske Thermal Power Plant in Donetsk Oblast, the second largest in eastern Ukraine.
On the 27th (local time), Oleksiy Arestovych, an advisor to the Ukrainian presidential office, said in an interview released on YouTube, "The Russian forces have only made a small tactical gain."
The Bukhlehirske Thermal Power Plant is the second largest power plant in Ukraine in terms of generation capacity and serves as a gateway for advancing toward the key Donetsk cities of Kramatorsk and Sloviansk.

Earlier, Russian forces had captured the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant in early March, shortly after invading Ukraine. Advisor Arestovych also added that Russian forces are redeploying a significant number of troops in three southern regions of Ukraine, suggesting that the Russian military appears to have shifted its tactics to strategic defense.
