The city distributed heatwave response guidelines and COVID-19 response notices to prevent heat-related damage to the homeless and to enable prompt response in case of emergencies, helping them prepare for the dual crises of COVID-19 and the heatwave.
Through the operation of the ‘Visiting Homeless Counseling Center,’ the city has identified nine homeless individuals on the streets and is providing continuous management and counseling activities through outreach three times a week.
During outreach, the city plans to assist homeless people who have no place to escape the heat by providing relief supplies such as COVID-19 prevention masks, bottled water, fans, daily necessities, food, and emergency nighttime shelter.
