Incheon International Airport Corporation Introduces Car Sharing Service... "Improving Accessibility"
[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunseok Yoo] Starting next month on the 1st, it will be possible to rent a car right outside your home to go to the airport or rent a car at the airport to return home.
Incheon International Airport Corporation announced that it will introduce a "car-sharing service" from August in collaboration with PeopleCar, a domestic car-sharing specialist company, which can be used when traveling between Incheon Airport and the metropolitan area.
The car-sharing service introduced at Incheon Airport this time is characterized by providing differentiated services tailored to the airport's characteristics. First, no additional fees will be charged even if the car rental and return locations are different. The fee is charged based on usage time, not driving distance. Also, unlike the existing service that can be used from a minimum of 30 minutes in 10-minute increments, the usage time is subdivided to allow free use in 1-minute increments.
The Incheon Airport car-sharing service can be used through the PeopleCar application in Seoul, Gyeonggi, and Incheon areas. Car rental and return can be done at the dedicated shared vehicle parking areas located in the long-term parking lots of Incheon Airport Terminal 1 and Terminal 2.
Through the introduction of this service, the corporation aims to provide a new 24-hour available transportation option, improving accessibility and convenience for airport users during late-night hours when public transportation is difficult to use. The plan is to enhance Incheon Airport's transportation competitiveness by offering a new customer experience.

Ryu Jin-hyung, Head of Operations at Incheon International Airport Corporation, said, "As a gradual recovery in air travel demand is expected in the second half of the year, we will secure Incheon Airport's international competitiveness by improving accessibility to the airport and flexibly expanding operations of key airport facilities such as departure and arrival halls and passenger convenience facilities to respond smoothly to demand recovery."
