[Asia Economy Reporter Park Sun-mi] Samsung Electronics announced that it has been expanding its inventory of key components since last year to prepare for global supply chain disruptions.
On the 28th, during the Q2 earnings conference call, Samsung Electronics stated, "As global supply chain issues began to spread significantly last year, we reviewed measures to minimize the impact and ensure uninterrupted product delivery to customers," adding, "As a strategic response, we started securing key component inventories through close cooperation with suppliers from the end of last year."

It continued, "This year, supply chain issues have intensified due to the Russia-Ukraine war and China's lockdown measures, but as a result of Samsung Electronics expanding its inventory holdings, it became a key factor in stable product supply in the first half of the year," and explained, "At present, we believe that inventory levels will be adjusted to an appropriate level mainly in the DX division during the second half of the year; however, given the remaining macroeconomic uncertainties, we plan to continue monitoring the situation."
