[Asia Economy Reporter Seo Mideum] Actor Ryu Seung-ryong won the Best Actor Award at the 21st New York Asian Film Festival.
According to distributor NEW on the 27th, Ryu Seung-ryong was selected as the inaugural recipient of this year's newly established Best from the East Award for Outstanding Performance for the film Genre Only Romance. Ryu delivered a powerful performance as Hyun, a bestselling author going through a slump.
Samuel Hamier, the festival's executive director, praised him as "a captivating actor who shows a commanding presence on screen."
