[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Shin Dong-ho] The Sangmu 1-dong Village Making Residents' Council (Chairman Park Young-hwan) and the Sangmu 1-dong Volunteer Camp (Camp Leader Kim Mi-kyung) in Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City announced on the 27th that they held a Love Life Water and Mind Wellness Companion Plant Sharing Event at the 5·18 Memorial Park.
The Village Making Residents' Council and Sangmu 1-dong Volunteer Camp have been preparing bottled water with membership fees collected little by little since last year and carried out a bottled water sharing project to respond to the summer heatwave, receiving great responses.
About 20 people, including members of the Sangmu 1-dong Village Making Residents' Council and volunteer camp leaders, participated in the event held that day, distributing 300 bottles of water and 100 companion plants to residents taking a walk in the 5·18 Memorial Park.
In particular, Kia AutoQ Sangmu Direct Store (CEO Lee Dong-yi) donated 600 bottles of water for this event, increasing the joy of sharing for the village residents.
Park Young-hwan, chairman of the Village Making Residents' Council, said, “It was a truly meaningful event where we could share warm hearts with neighbors to overcome the heatwave,” and added, “We will continue to strive to practice more sharing for the village and residents.”
Kim Mi-kyung, camp leader of the Sangmu 1-dong Volunteer Camp, also said, “I hope the companion plants we distributed help people overcome the exhausting hot weather,” and “We will practice more volunteer work to make Sangmu 1-dong brighter and warmer.”
Meanwhile, this sharing event is scheduled to be held two more times at the 5·18 Memorial Park until the second week of next month.
